is our life balance between dunya and akhirat? Our actions will answer that.

Assalamu'alaikum

Alhamdulillah, cahaya matahari masuk ke dalam bilik..nikmat dari Allah SWT :')

Lets make banyak-banyak sujud kepada Allah..banyak-banyak doa, dzikr and solat..read the tafseer and contemplate..

amalan yang untuk di bekal ke dalam kubur and akhirat..preparation :)

This morning i read this post from my dear sister in Islam:

Daripada Ali bin Abi Thalib r.a. berkata: Telah bersabda Rasulullah saw.; "Sudah hampir sampai suatu masa di mana tidak tinggal lagi daripada Islam ini kecuali hanya namanya, dan tidak tinggal daripada Al-Quran itu kecuali hanya tulisannya." Di riwayatkan oleh al Baihaqi.

:'(

Ya Allah, betulkan lah niat ni apabila membuat sesuatu perkara..biarlah kerana Allah..jadi amalan dapat jadi bekalan..

Masani diri ani masih cuba untuk merasa kemanisan sebenar2 kemanisan apabila membaca quran..memang ada feel..kata2 Allah..semua janji2 Allah itu BENAR!! 100% gaurantee. so siuklah membaca..

especially when tani down..Allah SWT is ALWAYS there..and quran contain the motivational words..

Allah SWT perintah banyak bersabar dan bersyukur kepadaNya..janji Allah bagi orang yang berbuat demikian MasyaAllah..rewardnya unimaginable..inda dapat dibayangkan :D

But also reminder yang if we langgar perintahnya pun ada..Allah SWT Maha adil..

also this morning i read my friend punya status..

Allah Maha Pengampun Maha Penyayang, try not to exploit dengan apa saja lah..pasal Allah SWT Maha adil jua and siapa langgar perintahnya..ada jua punishment yang ia readykan untuk hambaNya yang ingkar..

people say mesti balance dunia and akhirat ni..cuba fikirkan..if we say that to diri tani sendiri..ok..hidup ni mestilah balance dunia dan akhirat..cuba tanya diri tani sendiri..

apa maksudnya dengan balance atu?

Mana satu lagi penting untuk ketani dunia atau akhirat?

Well our action boleh answer all that..but fikirlah..adil kah tani arah our creator?

Tani hidup bukan lama..

Paling lama hidup di dunia berapa? 50, 60, 100..ada orang hidup sampai 200 years kan masani?

ada yang lebih muda dari 30, sudah kembali kepada Allah..dalam kandungan ibu pun Allah SWT boleh ambil kembali milikNya..

Paling lama hidup di akhirat berapa? 1000 tahun, 80000 tahun..no..selama-lamanya.

.its forever..

so mana satu lagi worth it?

Again our actions can answer that for us..

think..

again what do we mean by balance? THINK..adil kah tani arah our creator?

Salam

May Allah guide us.

Amejing view

The above picture is taken from the view of the Pilkington Library cafe

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarakatuh :)

BismillahHirrahmanNirrahim

When you look at the trees, do you realize how AMEJING Allah SWT creation is?

Look at the leaves - Daun-daun yang bersusun mengikut ketetapan Allah SWT. Walaupun daun-daun tersebut bertindih-tindih di antara satu sama lain masih lagi semua daun dapat receive enough sunlight for them to grow and maintain the green colour. MasyaAllah. Amejing!

Look at the clouds,

Allah SWT cipta matahari,

Kepanasan matahari evaporate air laut untuk jadi water vapour. Banyak-banyak water vapour jadi awan.

Allah SWT cipta angin,

Angin meniup water vapour ke langit jadi awan.

Allah SWT cipta hujan

Bila awan sudah berat, hujan akan turun.

Sungguh indah ciptaan Allah SWT, untuk hamba-hambaNya.

[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? [67:3]

Istiqamah - consistency

01 May 2010:17 Jumada-al-Awwal 1431

Sabda Rasulullah saw: "Wahai manusia, laksanakanlah amalan-amalan menurut kemampuan kamu. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak akan bosan sebelum kamu merasa bosan. Sesungguhnya amalan yang paling disukai Allah ialah amalan yang ringan namun berterusan."
( Hadis Riwayat Muslim )

Ibn al-Qayyim mentions that some knowledgeable people would say, “Be the companion of Istiqaama and not the seeker of respect and nobility [amongst the people], because your soul seeks this respect and nobility while Allaah has called it to seek Istiqaama.” He (rahimahullaah) also said, ‘I heard Ibn Taymiyyah say, “The greatest nobility lies in the presence and requirement of Istiqaama”

Change is difficult, so does the path to Jannah. Be patient, be strong and believe in Allah

Lets begin with,

It's gonna happen

Salam,

I've been thinking lately, gaurantee my life is going to be over - for sure its going to happen. So lately everytime I perform the solat, this is the amalan that is going to accompany me. Because I'm gonna be alone. Only my amalan is gonna be with me and gonna protect me. AMIN!!!!

But if my solat and other ibadah is ala kadar saja nya orang or masa sembahyang lalai, or inda ikhlas then how can my amalan accompany me nanti, is it able to protect me??

I'm going to leave everything behind. And only my amalan will be with me. AMIN!

Allah SWT menyintai orang yang membuat kebaikan.
Allah SWT MENYINTAI ORANG yang membuat kebaikan.

So buat lah kebaikan sentiasa.

Jazakumullahu Khayr!

Ask ourself and think

Salam,

Ask ourself siapa yang berjaya di dunia ni?

Think and List down a few:

My list:

Bill gates - use to be the richest man in the world
Richard branson, Donald Trump super successful businessman right?
Michael Jordan - a legend in basketball

Agree? They are very successful in this world - this dunya

Ask ourself - Are they going to be successful in the hereafter. (This is for me to think for myself.)

Ask ourself - Who are successful in the hereafter?

Think and List down a few:

My list:
Our BELOVED Prophet SAW
Para sahabat

Agree? They excel in the hereafter?

What about di dunya - what about in this world are they successful?

YES! they excel in this world and the hereafter!

How they excel in this world and the hereafter?? How??

I'm still reading books about The Prohet's Companions and about the Prophet himself. I'm still learning. So yeah.

So as i mentioned in my previous post

"Allah SWT kurniakan us akal-so think. Alhamdulillah we know how to read. Carilah jawapannya. Internet ada, buku ada, ask orang kah. InsyaAllah, Allah SWT mengetahui apa yang dalam our heart. So walaupun besar habuk saja atau besar biji atom saja yang tani MAHU mencari ilmu - or ada kebaikan dalam our hati sebesar biji atom. InsyaAllah Allah SWT akan bantu. Yakin pada Allah SWT!"

Ask ourself - tolabul ilmi fariidotun ‘ala kulli muslimin wa muslimat

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabaraktuh :)

BismillahHirrahmanNirrahim

Ask ourself, What is islam?

tolabul ilmi fariidotun ‘ala kulli muslimin wa muslimat (menuntut ilmu itu wajib bagi setiap muslim, baik laki-laki maupun perempuan)

Allah SWT kurniakan us akal-so think. Alhamdulillah we know how to read. Carilah jawapannya. Internet ada, buku ada, ask orang kah. InsyaAllah, Allah SWT mengetahui apa yang dalam our heart. So walaupun besar habuk saja atau besar biji atom saja yang tani MAHU mencari ilmu - or ada kebaikan dalam our hati sebesar biji atom. InsyaAllah Allah SWT akan bantu. Yakin pada Allah SWT!

Ask ourself, seumur hidup ketani, ada tani ambil whudu bisai2, and dirikan solat bisai2 (our mind inda melayang or lalai) and after solat tani doa. Doa bisai2. Banar2 minta arah Allah SWT untuk tunjuk kan kepada tani jalan yang lurus.

When is the last time or how many times we really doa to Allah SWT to show us the right path, to keep us in the right path??

Dunya ni milik Allah SWT. Semua ilmu milik Allah SWT. Allah SWT Maha Bijaksana. So not impossible for Allah SWT untuk membukakan pintu ilmu to us. And try not to think limited jalan Allah SWT ni. C'mon lah Allah SWT Maha Bijaksana, Maha Berkuasa atas segala sesuatu. Dunia ni milik Nya.

Alhamdulillah, we have banyak nikmat2 Allah SWT beri, dapat membaca, know how to use internet, we have the means to learn BUT masalahnya do we have the desire untuk belajar.

Cuba fikir, orang yang nada nikmat2 tersebut. Inda tau membaca. Nada internet. Macam negeri2 yang susah, damit2, umur 5 tahun, 6 tahun sudah mesti bekeraja. Ada yang kana paksa untuk minta derma. Astagafirullah Hal'Adhim. Ya Allah, lindungilah durang Ya Allah. Amin.

What is islam?

Fikir walaupun tuk sesaat saja. But banar2 fikir.

Jazakumullahu Khayr :)

Astaghafirullah

Salam :)

BismillahHirrahmanNirrahim

Pray everyday for Allah SWT to give us guidance,

And I thought I am a hypocrite. Sins after sins I commit. Major or minor. BUT still ALLAH SWT let me live for another day. Meaning another chance to repent. To make proper tawbah! MASYAALLAH!

And here I'm sitting down, thinking I don't deserve  His forgiveness or to even ask His forgiveness cause I think I'm a hypocrite and a sinner BUT still ALLAH SWT let me wake up from my sleep. Allah SWT is giving me another chance to live - to repent - to make proper TAWBAH! Ya ALLAH!

And I thought I could never be a good slave to Allah SWT. But today in my heart - I asked myself - Why? Allah SWT still wake me up from my sleep. Giving me another day to live. After the sins I have done. Why?

I think and think and think...

It's because Allah SWT loves me. That's what I believe with firm conviction in my heart. Amin. Giving me chance to repent and to make proper Tawbah.

This is a story I heard from a talk:

Allah SWT loves His slave 70 times more than a mother's love to her son or daughter.

There was this man, who is madly in love with a woman. The woman said to him, "If you really love me,bring your mother's heart to me."

He ran home to find his mother. Once he found her, he stabbed her chest. Ripped it opened and took her heart. He ran back to find his love. Along the way, he tripped and fell. The heart slipped out from his hands.

Then the heart cried out -" O my beloved son, are you hurt."

He killed his beloved mother, that loves him unconditionally. He felt extremely guilty.

He took the knife and tried to stab his own heart. Then the heart cried out again: "O my son, please don't stab my heart twice."

The moral of this story is the love of our mother to us is unconditional. But Allah SWT love us 70 times more than a mother's love to her son or daughter.

We can be very disobedient children most of the times. And Allah SWT is As-Sabr - The patient.

Pray to Allah SWT for guidance

Reminder to self

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarakatuh :)

BismillahHirrahmanNirrahim :)

Last night Ustaz Raminey gave a talk about "Jalan-jalan menuju ke Syurga" (The path to paradise)

Syurga(Paradise) and neraka(Hell) already exist. We believe that with firm conviction in our heart. So think. The way we live what path are we going to. Think...

To summarize the important part of the talk last night:

One way to the path of paradise is by menuntut ilmu. Seeking knowledge.

Engineering, Syariah, Chemistry, Tauhid, etc,etc semua tu ilmu Allah SWT. Semasa belajar, liatlah kebesaran Allah SWT, and bila di timpa kesusahan- doa kepada Allah SWT minta bantuan. Fully depend on Him. 2 in 1 benefit. InsyaAllah boleh excel in what we are doing as well as dapat reward from Allah SWT. AMIN!:)

The real knowledge brings us closer to Allah SWT. Bukannya menjauhkan or memisahkan tani from our Creator. Think...

The second way is bersihkan hati. (Clean your heart, polish your heart)

Al-kisah seorang sahabat Rasulullah SAW. Abu Umamah Ibn Jabar - Rasulullah SAW tell his companions that Abu Umamah is one of the people of paradise (Penghuni syurga) -Orangnya Abu Umamah ni very simple saja, very humble.

Abdullah Ammar another companion of Prophet SAW- He was very curious why Abu Umamah is one of the people of paradise. What so special about him? or what amalan that is extra special he did?

In the end Abu Ummah told Abdullah that hati nya inda pernah rasa dengki and iri hati and rasa dendam, etc etc(All of the penyakit-penyakit hati ia nada).

Before ia tidur pun ia bersihkan hatinya dari semua penyakit-penyakit hati tersebut ( benci, iri hati, riak, etc)

So yeah those are two ways out of many more ways jalan tuk ke syurga.

Think...

I haven't been a good slave to Allah SWT

I love this ayat: Surah Ad-Dhuha ayat 3:

3. Your Lord (O Muhammad ()) has neither forsaken you nor hated you.
(Tuhanmu tidak meninggalkn engkau (Muhammad) dan tidak pula membencimu)

Ayat 3 surah Ad-Dhuha really comforts me :)

Its so easy to rememeber and needing You during the hard times than the easy times. Ya Allah please forgive me.

Think

Anger and hatred won't do us any good.

How did Rasulullah SAW succeed in spreading the love, spreading Islam :) How did he excel in this world and the hereafter? You think there's an amount of anger and hatred in his heart?

How did he excel in this world and the hereafter? How did the sahabah excel in this world and the hereafter?

Think

We have akal, think.

How do we excel in this world and the hereafter??

Think!

SELFISH!

How selfish am I? HOW SELFISH AM I!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd6SklTzn1A

Anger and hatred in this heart won't solve any problem. Rasulullah SAW no amount of anger and hatred in his heart.

Monday 15 February 2010

How that?

I have a friend both of us are eager to seek knowledge however she I must say is a fast learner compared to me. Because I can see her eagerness to read the quran more, to attend lectures, quranic circles and any events related to do with the remembrance of Allah SWT. She memorised more long surah than me. MasyaAllah, I envy her. I wish I have the desire to seek knowledge like she does. We've been friends for many years now, what I can say about her is she is very patient. I never seen her angry. If we fight, she's the one who always try to make things work out first. Down to earth and she doesn't backbite or slander - She strive to Husnuzhan. So because of that it easier for knowledge to enter her soft heart. Easy for her to accept knowledge.

ALHAMDULILLAH, I met her. When I look at her she reminds me to Sabr, to be patient for the sake of ALLAH SWT ALAHMDULILLAH.

So must Strive to keep a healthy and clean heart. InsyaAllah.

How to clean the heart?

To clean a cup with coffee stain in it is by rinsing it with water.

How to clean the heart?

To clean our heart is by constant remembrance of Allah SWT.

-Prayers (Obligatory and recommended),
-Du'aa or supplication,
-the Quran,
-Attending events for example religious talk, quranic circle, etc.
-Reading books, articles, etc or watching tubeislam, etc.
-Listening to lectures anything that remind us about our Almighty creator.

Try not to limit the time and places for the remembrance of Allah SWT.

For example when we go travelling, we see the beautiful places with beautiful scenery, it should remind us that Allah SWT created it.

We see the vast blue sky, the mountains, the clouds, the ocean, MasyaALLAH! These are all Allah SWT creation.

No flaws at all!

When we seek knowledge for example biology, we learn about the digestive system, nervous system, respiratory and circulatory systems and musculoskeletal system. Every system has its own function. Who control all of this system? Allah SWT. MasyaAllah,Allah SWT created a perfect system for the human body. All working at the same time!

The real knowledge is the knowledge that brings you closer to Allah SWT. It doesn't matter if it's knowledge about the dunya or knowledge about the akhirat.

So yeah let's STRIVE for the healthy heart ya ukhti and akhi! InsyaALLAH with Allah SWT - The Most gracious, The Most Merciful, with His guidance shown by the Prophet Muhammad SAW insyaALLAH we can do this!

STRIVE! for a healthy heart! :D

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabaraktuh everyone =)

BismillahHirrahmanNirrahim - In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
I got the article below from this website,

http://www.turntoislam.com

There are LOADS more articles in this website on various topics ranging from stories about the Prophet's Companions to articles about self development, repentance, prayer, etc.

The topic for today's sharing is:

Which of type of heart do you have?

The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam informed us in a very famous tradition, commonly quoted with reference to halal and haram, about the importance of the heart. He said :

"There is in the body a clump of flesh - if it becomes good, the whole body becomes good and if it becomes bad, the whole body becomes bad. And indeed it is the heart."

[The hadith in full :- Bukhary, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 49: Narrated An-Nu'man bin Bashir: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'Both legal and illegal things are evident but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these suspicious things saves his religion and his honor. And whoever indulges in these suspicious things is like a shepherd who grazes (his animals) near the Hima (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get in it. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a Hima and the Hima of Allah on the earth is His illegal (forbidden) things. Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.]

There are three types of heart:

1) The healthy heart,
2) The dead heart, and
3) The sick heart.

* (1)The Healthy Heart *

On the Day of Resurrection, only those who come to Allah with a healthy heart will be saved. Allah says:

"The day on which neither wealth nor sons will be of any use, except for whoever brings to Allah a sound heart. (26:88-89)"

In defining the healthy heart, the following has been said:

"It is a heart cleansed from any passion that challenges what Allah commands, or disputes what He forbids.

It is free from any impulses which contradict His good. As a result, it is safeguarded against the worship of anything other than Him, and seeks the judgement of no other except that of His Messenger .

Its services are exclusively reserved for Allah, willingly and lovingly, with total reliance, relating all matters to Him, in fear, hope and sincere dedication.

When it loves, its love is in the way of Allah. If it detests, it detests in the lght of what He detests.

When it gives, it gives for Allah. If it witoholds, it withholds for Allah.

Nevertheless, all this will not suffice for its salvation until it is free from following, or taking as its guide, anyone other than His Messenger ."

A servant with a healthy heart must dedicate it to its journey's end and not base his actions and speech on those of any other person except Allah's Messenger .

He must not give precedence to any other faith or words or deeds over those of Allah and His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Allah says:

"Oh you who believe, do not put yourselves above Allah and His Messenger, but fear Allah, for Allah is Hearing, Knowing. (49:1)"

* (2)The Dead Heart *

It does not know its Lord and does not worship Him as He commands, in the way which He likes, and with which He is pleased.

It clings instead to its lusts and desires, even if these are likely to incur Allah's displeasure and wrath.

It worships things other than Allah, and its loves and its hatreds, and its giving and its withholding, arise from its whims, which are of paramount importance to it and preferred above the pleasure of Allah.

Its whims are its imam. Its lust is its guide. Its ignorance is its leader. Its crude impulses are its impetus. It is immersed in its concern with worldly objectives. It is drunk with its own fancies and its love for hasty, fleeting pleasures.

It is called to Allah and the akhira from a distance but it does not respond to advice, and instead it follows any scheming, cunning shaytan.

Life angers and pleases it, and passion makes it deaf and blind (*1) to anything except what is evil.

(*1) It has been related on the authority of Abu'd-Darda' that the Messenger of Allah said, "Your love for something that makes you blind and deaf." Abu Daw'ud, al-Adab, 14/38; Ahmad, al-Musnad, 5/194. The hadith is classified as hasan. To associate and keep company with the owner of such a heart is to tempt illness: living with him is like taking poison, and befriending him means utter destruction.

* (3)The Sick Heart *

This is a heart with life in it, as well as illness. The former sustains it at one moment, the latter at another, and it follows whichever one of the two manages to dominate it.

It has love for Allah, faith in Him, sincerity towards Him, and reliance upon Him, and these are what give it life.

It also has a craving for lust and pleasure, and prefers them and strives to experience them.

It is full of self-admiration, which can lead to its own destruction.

It listens to two callers: one calling it to Allah and His Prophet and the akhira; and the other calling it to the fleeting pleasures of this world.

It responds to whichever one of the two happens to have most influence over it at the time.

In conclusion,

The first heart is alive, submitted to Allah, humble, sensitive and aware;

The second is brittle and dead;

The third wavers between either its safety or its ruin.

The Heart

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Below is a lecture conveyed by Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips. I got if from this website:

www.islaam.com

www.desicomments.com/hearts/heart-8/

He said that after explaining that the halal is clear and that the haram is clear and that between them are obscure areas, not known to most people. However, what protects a person from the haram and ensures that he remains in the halal is knowledge; but beyond knowledge, it is the state of the heart. If the heart is good, then it makes use of the knowledge and it avoids what is prohibited. If the heart is bad, then the knowledge is of no benefit to it and it will indulge in what is prohibited.

The Prophet Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa sallam, on the last pilgrimage, informed his Companions and the nations of Muslims to come, that there is no favour or no special place of the Arab over the non-Arab; nor is there any favour or special position of White over Black, but that favour in the sight of Allah, is with those who fear Him, those who have taqwa. After bearing witness to that, he said that "Taqwa is in the heart."

In these statements and other similar statements, we find stress being placed on the heart - that the heart is the part of the body, which Allah has favoured over all other parts. It is the place of iman. Had there been in the body another part that were nearer to Allah, taqwa would have been placed there because iman is the most valuable thing that a human being can have. There is nothing more valuable. It is the determination ultimately of those who have belief in Allah - those who have accepted the message and who have chosen Paradise over Hell. It is the distinction of those who have belief and those who have disbelief.

The value of iman is more than all of the things of this world. This is why the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam said that for ALLAH to guide by your hands a single person to Islam is worth more than anything in this world. For you to help someone to find iman is worth more than any of the things in this world.
The heart is the place by which the correctness of deeds is judged.

The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam said : "Deeds are judged according to the intention."

The place of the intention is not on the lips. It is in the heart.

[The hadith in full:- Bukhary, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 51: Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab: Allah's Apostle said, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intention and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Apostle, then his emigration was for Allah and His Apostle. And whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for."]

Our deeds - what we do externally - are judged ultimately by the states of our hearts. These are good deeds. Evil deeds are evil, but these good deeds are in reference to those that we perceive to be a part and parcel of righteousness. Allah will inspect the hearts to determine whether they are truly acts of righteousness.

The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam had informed us that the first 3 people who would be cast into the Hell Fire are people who were involved in what everybody considers great acts of righteousness. They are the scholar who taught knowledge; the wealthy person who gave from his wealth in charity and the martyr who gave his life fighting in the path of God.

The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa sallam, in an authentic narration, said that they would be among the first groups of people thrown into because the scholar, when he taught the knowledge that Allah gave him, did not do so for the sake of Allah. He taught so that people would praise him, saying what a great scholar he is and how knowledgeable he is. Allah will say to him: "You received your praise, what you sought in that world. But there will be nothing for you in the next." So he will be drawn off on his face and thrown into Hell.

Similarly the rich individual - the philanthropist, who was generous with his wealth. He gave and people praised his generosity, but Allah will say, "You did it for the praise and you were praised. There was no sincerity there; it was not for the sake of Allah. You did it for as long as people appreciated it, but when people did not pay you mind, you were not generous anymore. Your generosity was conditional; it was not really for the sake of Allah." So that individual will be drawn off on his face and thrown into Hell.

And the martyr - the one whom we all assumed had died fii-sabilillah. We would think that his place in Paradise is guaranteed. But Allah will say: "You fought so people would say, 'How brave this one is! How strong and courageous he was!'" People said it; they praised him, but he did not do it for the sake of Allah, so he will be drawn off on his face and thrown into Hell.

This is all telling us that ultimately, even the highest of deeds can be of no avail if the hearts are sick; if the hearts are corrupt. So the place of the heart should, in our minds, occupy great attention. We have to spend much of our time observing, being aware of the state of our heart. When the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam described Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, explaining to the people his status over the rest of them, he said, "He does not surpass you by performing more prayers and fasts - there are among you those who pray and fast more - but by something which deeply has embedded itself in his heart… Iman in his heart." That was where his superiority laid.

So there is no other faculty in the human body and existence that a believer should more concerned about. We have to make sure that this faculty is functioning as Allah wishes it to function. We should be greatly concerned about it. The Prophet Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam used to make dua often, beginning: "I seek refuge in you, O Allah, from knowledge that does not benefit and from a heart which does not fear".
The Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam had a very soft heart. He treated people gently. His wives said that they could not recall an incident where he hit them or scolded them harshly. He was known for his gentleness. And Allah confirmed that this quality is an essential quality.

Allah said in the Quran, Surah Ali-Imran (3:159), "Due to Allah's mercy, you are gentle with them. Had you been severe and harsh hearted, they would have fled from around you."

This was the quality of the Prophets and this is the characteristic that all those who seek to guide others to Allah must have. As it was essential for the Prophets, it is essential for us. It is essential for those who seek knowledge; it is essential for all people. It is essential for parents, with regard to their children. Softness of the heart is something that we cannot spend too much time on.

With regards to children, Al-Aqra Ibn Habis was visited by the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa sallam. The Prophet Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam lifted one of his children and placed the child on his lap. He kissed the child out of the kindness and softness of his heart towards the child. Al-Aqra said, "I have 10 other children and I have not kissed a single one of them." This was a point of pride, manhood - that one is not soft, that one is tough.

The Prophet Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam said to him, "Can I help it if Allah has removed mercy from your heart?" He went on to say, "And whoever is not merciful will not receive mercy."

So it is essential that parents show mercy to their children. And if we look at a home where a father is kind and merciful with his children, we find a home that is full of happiness and joy.

Mercy is something that we cannot live without.

The reality for those seeking knowledge - as it is compulsory for us to seek knowledge of the Deen - is that if there is not, along with that knowledge, a soft heart, then we cannot taste the beauty of that knowledge. As Hassan Al-Basri had said, "If a man seeks knowledge, it will appear in his face, hands and tongue and in his humility to Allah."

The opposite is true - that nothing corrupts knowledge and da'wa more than the harshness of the heart. Where hearts have become hardened, the knowledge is of no benefit to the individual, nor can that individual benefit others with it. Softness of the heart is the characteristic of true Muslims. If it becomes absent, then a person's life is filled with distress and discomfort.

This is the promise of Allah. Those who lack hearts that are soft will lead woeful lives. As Allah said in Surah Az-Zumar (39:22), "Woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah."

They are in obvious misguidance. Woe to those whose hearts hear the Quran and they do not become fearful and humbled as a result of it. Woe to those whose eyes are reminded of the Words of Allah, but they do not weep in fear of Him. Woe to those who are reminded of the Warnings of Allah and they do not humble themselves to His Words.

It is a curse to have a hardened heart and it is a blessing to have a soft heart. Those with hardened hearts suffer in this life, even though they may have all of the trappings of this life. What seems to be an enjoyable life is empty - it is filled with loneliness. They cannot find peace of mind and of heart because their hearts are hardened to Allah … to belief in Allah, to submission to Allah.

That is why Allah said, "Whoever turns away from my remembrance will have a wretched life." [Quran, Surah Ta-Ha 20:124 : "… Whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgement."] It is only with the remembrance of Allah that hearts find rest. [Quran, Surah Al-Ra'd 13:28 : "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction."]

What is most beneficial in this life is a soft heart. We should strive to achieve it because everything else would be meaningless and useless if we do not have softened hearts. How do we achieve this?

It is not a secret. It is not something known only to a few, handed down in special sessions and gatherings. As the Prophet Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam said, "I have left you on a clear white plain, whose day is like its night. Anyone who deviates from it is destroyed."

The way of the Prophet Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa sallam clarifies for us how to achieve a soft heart.

There is a continuation of this lecture on how to soften a hard heart which you will find on the website:

Why this Heartache?

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarakatuh,

Why this heartache?

I got this from a friend - "If you do dzikir, you won't get stress. If you're stressed, then you have not done enough dzikir."- courtesy of Wani D.

If we feel hurt, angry, sad or something missing it's because we don't remember Allah SWT. We often forget Him. We don't pray on time, we don't read the quran regularly, we don't do enough dzikir, we don't  make du'aa often. Allah SWT promise us it is only with the remembrance of Allah that hearts find rest.

[Quran, Surah Al-Ra'd 13:28 : "Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction."]

What else do we want? Why are we being ungrateful?

If we forget to constantly remember Allah SWT this can lead to other sins.

[49:12]

O you who believe, shun much suspicion. Indeed some suspicions are sins, that is to say, it causes one to fall into sin. This [suspicion] may have many forms, such as thinking ill of the good folk from among the believers — and such [good folk] are many — in contrast to the immoral individuals among them in whose case there is no sin, so long as it [the suspicion] is in accordance with their outward behaviour. And do not spy (tajassasū: one of the two tā’ letters [of tatajassasū] has been omitted): do not pursue the imperfections and faults of Muslims by searching them out; nor backbite one another, do not speak of him by [mentioning] something which he is averse to [having mentioned of himself], even if it be true. Would any of you love to eat the flesh of his brother dead? (read maytan or mayyitan). That is to say, it would not be right for him [to do so]. You would abhor it. Thus to backbite him in life would be like eating his flesh when he is dead. This latter [form of behaviour] has been suggested to you and you were averse to it, so be averse to the former too. And fear God, that is, His punishment for backbiting, by repenting of it; assuredly God is Relenting, accepting of the penitence of those who repent, Merciful, to them.

So again EMPHASISED here about the heart. Keep our heart away from suspicion, away from hatred, away from anger, away from arrogance, away from syirik, away from backbiting and slandering.

How to do keep it away from all that?

Is only by the remembrance of Allah SWT. InsyaAllah.

It's worth it

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarakatuh :)

That level of iman (faith),

When doing good deeds,

Not for the sake of the reward,

When staying away from bad deeds,
Not because of the punishment,

But doing all that Only to please Allah SWT,

Only to please Allah SWT

That level of iman (faith) is iman (faith) of the Prophets and the Sahabah,

MasyaAllah

Is it possible to reach that level?

What I know for sure is that It's worth trying.

Because this is for Allah SWT. Every tears and every blood shed in this path is worth it.

Az-zumar 53 Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah. for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful

Will Allah forgive me?

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabaraktuh,

I got this from a wesbite:

Deenislam.co.uk

Never Despair In the Mercy of Allah,

Sometimes a man asks: I would like to repent, but I have such a huge collection, and such a wide variety of evil deeds in my account that I do not know if Allah will forgive me.

Let me tell you in reply, my brother, that this is not your specific problem but that of many a young man who wants to repent his sins. Let me give you the example of a young man. He started his career of sin at a very early age. By the time he had reached seventeen years of his there was not a sin - major or minor - that he had not committed teeming up with people of all sorts - young and old. He had even committed indecencies with a little girl adding to the list of thefts committed on various occasions. Then he repented, began to do his tahajjud, fast every Monday and Thursday, and read the Qur'an after every morning Prayer. But, he used to ask, is this repentance acceptable (to Allah)?

Our Answer to him and to every sinner is that we should always turn to the Qur'an and sunnah to find out what they have to say about the problem at hand, and what is the cure and solution they offer. When we refer to the qur'an in this regard we find that Allah, glorified be He, tells us: "Tell them (O Muhammad ): 'O My slaves who have wronged their souls, do not despair of Allah's mercy, for Allah will forgive all the sins. He is indeed very Forgiving, very Compassionate, Turn to Him then, and obey Him (in all your affairs).'" (Al-Zumar:53,54). This then is the Answer which does not need further elucidation.

As for the thought that the sins are so numerous that Allah may not forgive them, it arises, first of all, from a lack of faith and knowledge of the magnitude of Allah's mercy. Secondly, it is because of the lack of appreciation of Allah's capability to forgive any number of sins. Thirdly, it indicates failure on the part of the penitent to come up with another important deed of the heart viz., "hope". And fourthly, it is lack of appreciation of the way in which repentance can wipe out sins. we shall therefore, discuss each of these points a little more in detail.

As for the first, it should be enough to quote Allah Himself who says: "My mercy has encompassed every thing." (Al-A'raf:56)

As for the second, a hadith qudsi should be enough to quote. Said the Prophet  on whom be peace: "Says Allah, 'He who knows (and believes) that I forgive all sins, then I do forgive all his sins, and do not care - so long as he does not suggest partners unto Me." And the rule will be applied (continues the Prophet ) in the Hereafter."

As for the third, another hadith should offer the cure. The Prophet  quotes Allah as having said: "Son of Adam! If your sins were to reach the limits of the sky, and then you seek My forgiveness, I shall forgive you, and I do not care. Son of Adam! If you will bring sins equal in volume to the earth and then you meet Me (on the day of Judgment) in the state that you would not have suggested partners unto Me, I shall give you in return forgiveness equal to the volume of the earth."

And, as for the fourth, another hadith of the Prophet  should be enough for the purpose. Said he: "He who repented is like him who has no sin on him."

Repent

Prophet SAW said " Every children of Adam after they reach the age of maturity,  they will commit sin, whether its minor or major. And the best those who commmit sin, in  a sight of Allah is those who are always prepare to repent and return to Allah."

The Man and The Angel of Death

It was early in the morning at four, When death knocked upon a bedroom door, Who is there? The sleeping one cried. I'm Malikul Mawt, let me inside.

At once, the man began to shiver, As one sweating in deadly fever, He shouted to his sleeping wife, Don't let him take away my life. Please go away, O Angel of Death! Leave me alone; I'm not ready yet.

My family on me depends, Give me a chance, O please prepense! The angel knocked again and again, Friend! I'll take your life without a pain, Tis your soul Allah requires, I come not with my own desire.

Bewildered, the man began to cry, O Angel I'm so afraid to die, I'll give you gold and be your slave, Don't send me to the unlit grave. Let me in, O Friend! The Angel said, Open the door; get up from your bed, I'll point my gun, towards your head, You dare come in; I'll shoot you dead.

Foolish man, Angels never die, Put down your gun and do not sigh. Why are you afraid! Tell me O man, To die according to Allah's plan? Come smile at me, do not be grim, Be Happy to return to Him.

O Angel! I bow my head in shame, I had no time to take Allah's Name. From morning till dusk, I made my wealth, Not even caring for my health. Allah's command I never obeyed, Nor five times a day I ever prayed. A Ramadan came and a Ramadan went, But no time had I to repent. The Hajj was already FARD on me, But I would not part with my money. All charities I did ignore, Taking usury more and more.

O Angel! I appeal to you, Spare my life for a year or two. The Laws of Quran I will obey, I'll begin SALAT this very day.

My Fast and Hajj, I will complete, And keep away from self-conceit. We Angels do what Allah demands, We cannot go against His commands.

Death is ordained for everyone, Father, mother, daughter or son. I'm afraid this moment is your last, Now be reminded, of your past, I do understand your fears, But it is now too late for tears.

Instead of making more Muslims, You made your children non-Muslims. You ignored the Mua'dhin Adhaan, Nor did you read the Holy Quran.

Breaking promises all your life, Backbiting friends, and causing strife. There is no time for you to repent I`ll take you soul for which I am sent When you read this remember there is no second chance!

Reminder to Self

Assalamu'alaikum brothers and sisters in Islam :)
Hello everybody,

The reason I post this note is to remind myself, how awful, how sinful it is to do something good but for bad intentions. A hadeeth I got from a friend:

Abu Sa'eed al-khudri narrates that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: Shall I not tell you what I fear for you more than al-Masih ad-Dajjal?" They replied: "Yes." He said:" It is hidden shirk (riyaa) such as when a person stands in prayer and he improves his prayer when he knows that others are watching. (Ahmad)

Do not delay, Don't be lazy

Muhammad ibn Abi Imran narrates: I heard someone ask our shaykh Hatim al-Asum how he reached the level he was at in reliance upon Allah. He replied, "I became convinced in four things (i.e. that these four things penetrated my heart). One, I am convinced that no one else will eat the provision Allah has decreed for me, so I am content. And two, I am convinced that no one else is going to do good works except me, so I am busy doing it myself. Three, I am certain death shall come unexpectedly, so I am busying myself in expectation of it. And four, I am certain I shall never escape the Sight of Allah, so I am shy to disobey him while He is watching."

L.O.V.E

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarakatuh! :)

Abu Yahya Suhaib bin Sinan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him". [Muslim].

Commentary:  A Muslim is required to behave in poverty and prosperity, affluence and hardship, in the manner stated in this Hadith. It means that to forget Allah in prosperity, rather than being thankful to Him for His Favour is defiance of His Orders. Similarly, it is unbecoming of a Muslim that in troubles and turmoil, rather being patient, he tends to weeping and crying, grousing and grieving against the Will of Allah.

There's this story I heard from www.tubeislam.com,

insyaAllah:

Once upon a time there was this syeikh. This syeikh has a business on the sea and  he is also a teacher. One day when he was in his class teaching, his assistant rush into the classroom and told the syeikh:

Assistant: "Syeikh! Syeikh! there was a big wave, it hit all your ships and all of your ship sinks!"

The syeikh pause for a while then he said ALHAMDULILLAH.

Then he continues with his class.

Then again the assitant rush  into the classroom and say that the news was false. Acutally all of the ships have safely sailed pass the big wave.

The syeikh pause for a while then he said ALHAMDULILLAH.

After the class finished, the students asked the syeikh.

"Syeikh, why when you heard the bad news or good news you just say ALHAMDULILLAH."

Because the syeikh answered:

"When i heard the bad news i check my heart, if i am displeased with takdir Allah SWT and no i am not displease with takdir Allah SWT. Then i say ALHAMDULILLAH"

"When i heard the good news i check my heart, if i love  Allah SWT  more due to this good incident and no nothing of that happened. Then i say ALHAMDULILLAH"

Meaning good news or bad news, he loves Allah SWT all the time. Consistent level. He doesnt have to wait for something good to happen then he'll love Allah more.

Same for bad news. He is grateful to Allah SWT.

May Allah SWT gives us strength to always be grateful and thankful to Him. Amin. InsyaAllah

Awesomeness

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarakatuh :)

Smile! :) It's a sunnah :) Awesome right?

A sunnah is, well according to my understanding, it's the things Rasulullah SAW do, his actions, his sayings.

I say awesome because if we follow the sunnah of Prophet SAW, it is consider an ibadah, meaning we will be rewarded with pahala. Awesome right!?

And just by smiling we'll get reward InsyaAllah. Amazing.

"And surely, We shall try you till We test those who strive hard (for the Cause of Allah) and As-Sabirun (the patient)'' (47:31)
